At Kingsley, teachers, Education Directors, Support Specialists, the Assistant Heads of School, the Head of School, and parents work as a team to help all children realize their full potential as learners and members of our community.
We believe that with collaboration and a team approach, we are better able to understand how children think and learn, capitalize on strengths, nurture social-emotional development, and work hard to address any vulnerabilities or challenges that may have an impact on learning.
Our innovative model for educational support for all children is called the Student Support Team (SST). The Student Support Team consist of four Student Support Specialists, two Support Coordinators (one focusing on academics, the other on social and emotional issues) an Educational Specialist, and the School Nurse & Health Coordinator. Members of SST work collaboratively with teachers, Education Directors, and parents using a Response to Intervention (RTI) approach to children’s learning.
Parents are key participants, in that observations and plans for student learning must bridge home and school.
